Dolphins in Brighton Square
Taken from the base of the dolphins statue, Brighton Square. The statue made by James Osbourne a famous son of Brighton is looking festive as all the lights in the square emanate from the tip of the statue.

A huge garden gnome at Donatellos
To go with yesterday's huge polar bear - here's a huge gnome, elf, dwarf, santa's helper (not really sure what to call it). Not sure if you've noticed it, but he looks really smug for some reason? Found in the north lanes, Brighton centre.

Hove Image
Around the corner from where I live in Hove. I just liked the contrast in this shot - it's of nothing in particular just a street in Hove.

Christmas Tree at Brighton Pier
The whole place is looking quite festive now. This tree with blue lights is just at the entrance to the pier. It seems that there are two Santa grottos competing for Brighton children, the one at Churchill square and there's a pirate themed one in the Marina. Spoilt for choice these kids of today ;)

looking out to sea
And you won't see very much - the sea has been incredibly rough with strong winds over the past few days. This is a talking telescope - never used one, perhaps I'll let you know next summer!

Brighton Royal Pavillion
Has been the subject of many a Brighton Daily Photo - but I couldn't resist taking this shot of the very tips of the building - looking like minarets from the east.....

Santa on a Space Hopper

I know how Santa is getting around this Christmas - on a Space Hopper.
This particular Santa is participating in the biggest ever Space Hopper race along Brighton and Hove seafront in aid of testicular cancer. The charity Orchid Cancer appeal is the beneficiary of the looney tune race where participants needed a Space Hopper, a sense of humour and a willingness to fall flat on their face (or arse!).
You can read more about it and leave a dontation by visiting the bounce your balls for cancer website.
More brighton images of this event can be seen over at Brighton Daily Photo Extra

Brighton Town Hall
Right in the middle of town and just behind the seafront is our Town Hall - It's changed a bit since this pitcure of the same building in 1896. I've only had the need to be inside this building twice, to register the birth's of my two children.

Rough Brighton Seas and high winds
A windy day here on the coast - so much so that it blew over the litter bin in the BRHS of this picture. Not boating weather for sure.

View from a car park

Looking for unusual views of our city I took this from level 7 of a car park near the searont in Brighton. It's actually between two of Brighton's most famous hotels - the Metropole on the righton and the Grand Hotel on the left.
At political party conferences they build a bridge at this point for the sake of security checking between the two venues.

Rain, Rain, Go Away...
The severe gales came last night and kept half of the Harvey house awake with the wind howling around the house.
It looks like the only severe weather is going to be in Northern Ireland and local flood warnings are in place but it hasn't stopped raining now for 8 hours solid!

St Nicholas Church - Brighton Photo

As it's the 1st December and now officially time to start feeling a little Christmassy here a picture of the Church in honour of st Nicholas.
There a wonderful history and the Church dates from 14th Century - you can read more about it here
In fact my Google search on the church returned 866,000 pages concerning the topic!
