Anyone for a swim?
This is our glorious pier taken from a slightly different angle - quite often there's divers under the pier (probably collecting all the dropped coins from the penny arcade!)

BikeSafe
I had a fantastic day out with the Police Riders of East Sussex, part of an initiative called BikeSafe you get the opportunity to brush up on you riding skills with a theory based morning and a practical (biking in the sunshine around Sussex) in the afternoon - would highly recommend it if you're on two wheels and the skills learned might keep you biking longer!

Millions of pounds of unused equipment
It always amazes me just how much money is sitting in Brighton marina with so much of it being unused - I know it's weather dependent but I'm fascinated by just how little use these boats get.

Brighton festival
Brighton Festival is now in full swing with venues all across the City hosting weird and wonderful acts, experiences and performances.
One of the venues is the whacking great big upside down purple cow on the Steine - this venue is called Udderbelly.

Sunny morning
Festival photos to follow this week (thanks Iggy) but thought I'd share our sunny morning with you today. Feels like we've turned a corner and that Summer's on its way.

Welcome back
I'm afraid i've been kidnapped by the real world recently and my digital life has been on a bit of a pause. However - I'm back (yet another false dawn?).
I'm off walking on the South Downs this weekend so there should be plenty of photo opportunities - which I'll post after the weekend.
This shot was taken in the sunshine of the Royal Pavillion Gardens - there's a chap doing Tai Chi in the foreground and plenty of folks enjoying the sun!

Storm coming
The small dots are learner windsurfers from the school over on Hove Lagoon - the big black cloud is looming.....

Blue skies above Brighton
Back from holiday and back in the saddle again - I've been struggling lately with the decision to carry on with BDP - but have reached a conclusion that I get so much pleasure from it that I'll find the enthusiasm to get our there to find different shot/angles/stories to keep it interesting (or at least semi-interesting).
This shot is taken of North Street - facing north - from our offices in Palace Place. The roadworks you can see have been there for MONTHS! now and it's not really clear what exactly it is they're improving?
After the snow of last week the sun has returned to Brighton and there's a sense of Spring in the air - hallelujah!

Snow in Brighton
Whilst up in Glasgow we kind of expected some snow this weekend - however we were gutted to find out that all the snow fell in Brighton this morning - we NEVER get to see snow in Brighton, and when it falls in spades we're away in the North of the country!!! So we got on the phone straight away to our roving reporters Hannah and Paul to find out if it was true - and here's the proof - thanks Hannah and Paul for the pics - we have a very disappointed 5 year old up here in Scotland who would've been delighted to go sledging with his pals.

Boating weather
Took a trip down to the boat today where Ed was fitting recently recharged batteries - fired up first time - result - sadly it was a little too rough to take her out - but we'll be in the season soon.
Sadly - these gin palaces are not ours.................

A "flyer" free Brighton
Brighton has it's fair share of flyposters and leaflet distribution going on - looks like the council have had enough of this type of activity - this notice (slapped on a lampost - and no - the irony isn't lost on me) lets us good residents know that it's going to be outlawed soon.
